The following images are the results of an idea I had when a speck of solidified silk paint from the bottom of the paint pot got on to my silk. When I had dried the painted silk and removed the speck I noticed that it left behind a white mark.
I decided to deliberately lay wet cotton thread on wet silk before painting wet in wet and see what happened. Then I dried the silk quickly with a hairdryer. The cotton thread left a fine line and a soft halo. I experimented with cotton wool, loose weave cotton muslin, lace, rope and other materials.
These are some of the results.
